Hyderabad: Kent RO Systems Limited, a leading RO water purifier brand, is keen on setting up a new manufacturing plant in Telangana if the government allocates requisite land to it. “We have no immediate plans to set up a new plant. But we will go for one if our turnover increases.

We will consider setting up a plant in Telangana if the government here allocates land for us,” Dr Mahesh Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Kent RO Systems, told The Hans India. He was recently in the city to announce the company’s foray into vacuum cleaners and air purifiers and launch the new products. The company rolled out a total of six new products including a shoe sole cleaner.

Asked how the company was doing in both the Telugu states, he said the business growth in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was in line with the company’s nationwide growth. “We have 600 dealers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Our business in both the Telugu states is clocking a healthy growth of 15 per cent. The growth is in line with our nationwide numbers,” he said.

He said company invested Rs 200 crore in its existing plant in Roorkee for manufacturing the new products. “Second plant is coming up in Noida, where we are investing another Rs 100 crore. The plant will become operational in six months,” he said. The new products will add Rs 100 crore to its existing top line of Rs 850 crore, he said.

On water purifier segment, he said Kent enjoyed 35 per cent market share in the segment. India’s total market size is five lakh units per annum, growing 10-12 per cent, he added.
