Hyderabad: KrazyBee, a micro-lending platform, on Tuesday announced HedNxt Startup Fest 2018, a competition for college students with entrepreneurial ideas. At present, the fest has received 30 applications under Best Startup category, two in Social Impact and 4 from women entrepreneurs.

The student-centric startup fest, organised by KrazyBee and WPS Global is open for tech enabled solutions from any sector of interest, for which the registration is open until September 30, 2018. “We are promoting the fest in 3,000 engineering and degree colleges of seven states and 39 cities across India. Wherein, we are expecting nearly 500 applications with good business ideas,” Gowrinath Raghava, COO, KrazyBee, said.

With only one female student competing from Hyderabad, the platform has called out for a greater number of girl participants. The fest has also received multiple applications from science and commerce domain in comparison to the engineering students. While engineering students have ideas with a focus on technology, the other domains present ideas related to social awareness.

Further, the participants will also get a chance to interact with mentors and VCs to raise funds for their startup. “We have tied-up with WPS to provide students with various learning tools, so that they can pitch their ideas successfully,” Raghava added. The final, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on October 26 and 27, has an award of full paid trip to China.
