Hyderabad: Vivo India with a presence across 1,550 retail stores in Telangana, has a market share of 17 per cent and the newly-created state is third largest market for the brand. To further expand its presence and to increase its sales in the TS market, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer on Tuesday exclusively launched Y95 in the city. Available in two colours, the smartphone is priced at Rs 16,990.
Speaking about the brand’s placement in the TS market, Nipun Marya, Director, Brand Strategy, Vivo India, said the company has received positive consumer response from Telangana. “Hyderabad is an important market for Vivo India. From April to September 2018, we sold a total of 2 million units in TS and 1.4 million units in AP.
We remain committed to the AP and TS market and hope to achieve sales milestones with the recent launch of the Vivo Y95.” Also, Vivo India informed about the research conducted by the company’s India Innovation team to provide tailor made software. In this regard, Marya said, “though our research team isn’t placed in India, we have an Innovation Team which provides inputs about the Indian consumers to the R&D centre which in turn develops software tailored according to the needs of the customers here.”
