Srihari's wife Disco Shanthi to join politics

Late actor Srihari has earned a good name not only in the film industry but also in the society because of his helping nature. He wanted to plunge into direct politics and serve the society.

On his last birthday, he had announced that he would contest in the elections on Congress party ticket from Kukatpally. Unfortunately, the actor passed away without fullfilling his dream.

His actress wife Shanti Srihari, populary known as Disco Shanthi is now gearing up to make her husband's dream come true.

Shanthi who is slowly coming to terms with the death of her husband told an English daily that she wants to join politics. However, she will not be contesting on Congress ticket. She is planning to contest as an independent candidate.

The actress-turned-housewife revealed she did not want to approach any party begging for a ticket. However, she hinted that she would consider the offer if approached by a party.

Now that Shanti has revealed her intentions to take the political plunge, it would be interesting to see which party will make the first move. The buzz in the political circles is that the party would be Congress.
