The much-publicised ‘Walk for Heart Reach for a Heart’ event by Hrudaya Spandana Foundation, an organisation that aims at creating awareness in heart-related ailments among children, was a hit, in fact a super hit. A sea of crowd descended the Necklace Road, Hyderabad, on early Sunday to get a dekho of Superstar Pawan Kalyan, who was the chief guest of the event.

Looking casual in his trademark jacket and blue denims, the normally reclusive star flagged of the 5K walk amidst roaring chants of his fans. Speaking at the event, he said, “Instead of looking into medical facilities which are not at the reach of every individual, governments and political leaders are busy playing politics. Organizations like Hrudaya Spandana should be applauded for the way they are taking care of heart ailments among poor children. Telugu civil servants too are rendering their services for such noble initiatives.”

Accompanied by his director-friend Trivikram Srinivas, he also stressed the importance of healthy life. “A good physical body helps in getting the thinking right, which, in turn, helps in steering the society in the right direction.”

Trivikram advised the participants to walk every day. “Ikkada weather chaala bagundhi, ikkadunna cause chaala bagundhi, nadisthey gundeki kuda chala baguntundhi; so please walk every day,” he said in his trademark style. City police commissioner Anurag Sharma and noted heart surgeon Gurava Reddy too participated in the event.
