The political divide between Mega brothers Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan is out in the open if the wedding ceremony of BVSN Prasad’s daughter is an indicator. While the actor-turned-politician attended the marriage, his younger brother chose to skip it, fully aware that it would mean a face-off with big brother.

The wedding of BVSN Prasad’s daughter Prasanna to Srinivas on Sunday in Hyderabad witnessed the presence of high-profile filmi guests such as Raghavendra Rao, Ramanaidu, Adiseshagiri Rao, Chiranjeevi, Ramoji Rao, Allu Aravind, Satyanand, Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao, KS Ramarao, B Gopal, Shyam Prasad Reddy, KL Narayana, Karunakaran, Gopichand, Puri Jagannadh, Dil Raju, Kalyan Ram, Sukumar and Kona Venkat among others. Even NTR, who is warily making his public appearances of late, was spotted at the wedding. That he will be collaborating with Prasad for second time shortly is another reason. However, another big name that was missing from the gathering was that of Pawan Kalyan, the man in the news. The actor who is credited with giving Prasad the biggest hit of his career in the form of ‘Attarintiki Daaredhi’ last year, who also bailed out the producer by lending financial support when the film was caught in piracy, couldn’t be spotted at the gala affair. Has his absence got anything to do with the political differences that he shares with his brother Chiru?

While the producer chose not to answer our question when contacted, a source hints, “Prasad garu invited Pawan Kalyan garu personally. Since he was extremely busy with the activities surrounding his political entry, he had to skip the ceremony. Nevertheless, he conveyed his hearty wishes to the newlyweds and to Prasad’s family.”

However, a source close to Pawan Kalyan has a different version: “Pawan was conscious of the fact that his brother Chiranjeevi would attend the event; hence he made it a point not to attend it. He was keen on avoiding confronting Chiru, especially after what happened at the film muhurat of Varun Tej’s movie recently, as if to give more fodder to the media (considering that every move of theirs’ is under the scanner). Now that he is expected to announce his political ambitions this week, it was necessary for him to steer clear of the wedding and having an eye-to-eye contact with Annaya.” Looks like the political divide between the demi gods of Telugu cinema is here to stay.
