“I have always been passionate about acting and that’s the only reason I am here today,” says Shaurya who will make his debut into the world of films in the anthology movie ‘Chandamama Kathalu’.

On a roll even before the release of his first film, the BCom graduate from Hyderabad’s St Mary’s College says that he has nothing planned yet and is reveling in the work he’s doing now. “I haven’t planned anything because I am busy with many movies right now,” he tells us.

So what are the movies he is busy with? “Of course there is ‘Chandamama Kathalu’ where I play a lover boy and I star opposite Isha in the film. Then there are three more – ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ to be directed by Avasarala Srinivas of ‘Ashta Chamma’ fame where Rashi Khanna is my co-star; ‘Lakshmi Rave Ma Intiki’ where I will work with Avika Gor, and a film to be directed by Sai Korrapati.”

The young actor, who is very confident about the movies he has signed, is admittedly a big fan of Nagarjuna, “My dream role is the one he played in ‘Ninne Pelladuta’.” He further adds, “Of course there are many other roles I like, for instance Al Pacino’s role in ‘Scarface’.”

Though passionate about acting, the 23-year-old actor had an alternative career planned if acting did not happen. “I would have been a professional tennis player. I like the game and I have trained for it.”

When asked what compliments he has received from the people he has worked with till now, he quips, “I have received many but the biggest compliments that I look forward to are the ones that I will get after the release of ‘Chandamama Kathalu’.” He points out that that the film is more a “life story” than the love story people are calling it.

“In all the movies I am doing now, I play a lover, a son and a hero. I am mostly the boy-next-door but if I am given a chance, I want to play a tough, stylish villain. It would be really challenging,” he says as he signs off.
