How Pawan Kalyan’s Poem on Tilak Influenced The Masses. These are the words constantly uttered and referred by Power Star PawanKalyan in all his public gatherings, be it the audio launch of his blockbuster film AttarintikiDaredi or his speeches for the Jana Sena Party.
“Illemodooram....asalecheekati...daaranthagathukulu..chethilodeepamledu..kaaninaadhairyamenaakukavacham…aadhairyamthonemundukusaaguthunna”
(Home afar…its dark as it is..the way is full of rocky bumps..no light in hand..but my guts are my armor..i progress ahead with my guts alone)
These are the words constantly uttered and referred by Power Star PawanKalyan in all his public gatherings, be it the audio launch of his blockbuster film AttarintikiDaredi or his speeches for the Jana Sena Party. The words, taken from Devarakonda Balagangadhar Tilak’s famous poem are back in popularity, thanks to Pawan’s affection to the poem and his extreme interest in Telugu Literature.
The poetBalagangadharTilak, who was a scholar, mathematician, philosopher and a militant nationalist often took to words to condemn the atrocities of British Rule that oppressed the citizens of India.PawanKalyan, who is often said to express his emotional bonding with Tilak’s writings, is constantly under the influence of the radical thoughts on life and society.
The star, who was often reserved in the media while acting in films, suddenly came out of his shell post the film piracy of AttarintikiDaredi. Usually self-contained, Pawan took to revealing his anger on the corruption and manipulative politicians in his first ever public forum while launching his party, Jana Sena. This seemed to have cast an incredible swaying on his young followers and the masses.
Thanks to Pawan taking the stand with his ideology and principles, the long forgotten BalaGangadharTilak is back to life – this is as if the poet’s spirit is waging the war along with Pawan. The young hearts now have sudden interest into Telugu poetry and are seen constantly discussing Tilak’s lines on the social networking forums. The followers who call themselves ‘Pawanists’, now are actively looking up at both PawanKalyan’s book ISM and Tilak’s other writings.
The effect of a celebrated star making the next gens think about the ramifications of yet another dictatorial amoral political rule inflicting the current society is poetic in its own self!
It is one thing to have a cinematic influence on an average countryman and yet another, to cast revolutionary thought process with mere words coming out, way afar from the fake sets and shooting lights.
One hopes that this anger and revolution paves in a way for a radical movement to happen with the thinking pattern of young men and women in the Country.
