India has decided that Mahesh Babu is the most desirable man in the country according to The Times 50 Most Desirable Men of 2013. 7.34 lakh people voted in the online polls, putting the Tollywood icon ahead of Bollywood heartthrobs like Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Ranbir Kapoor.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Mahesh Babu said that it felt great to know he was appreciated and loved by fans from all across the nation. But when it came the to the question of what made him so desirable, he answered humbly “Maybe you could tell me.” The 35-year-old actor said he would define this desirability which put him ahead of major Bollywood icons as a combination of his “personality, image, and most importantly, the kinds of films [he does]”.
One of the most sought after actors in the south Indian film industry, Mahesh Babu says that over the years, he has worked very hard to achieve what he has so far, but the a lot of the credit goes to his fans as well.
The actor who is known to shy away from the spotlight, told Bombay Times promptly that the most desirable woman for him was his wife, Namrata Shirodkar who he married in 2005 and has two children with.
Also known as the “Prince” of the Tollywood industry, he admits that his renound fitness is a result of immense discipline. On the other hand, he doesn't really follow fashion trends, but tries to wear whatever makes him comfortable.
On the subject of being seen in a Bollywood production, he said that if a great story comes his way, he would surely give it a shot.
Also on tbe list is Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Virat Kohli, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. At 12th position is Tamil actor Suriya. The acotrs Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have been exempted from the list because The Times has decided they belong to the “Forever Desirable” club, so they won't even be included in the list.
