Tollywood actor Shakuntala, popularly known as Telangana Shakuntala passed away on early hours of Saturday.

Shakuntala was 63 when she breathed her last and suffered a stroke at her residence near Kompally in the outskirts of Hyderabad. She was rushed to the Narayana Cardiac Centre, but all efforts to rescue her went in vain.

The versatile character who essayed villainous character with much ease in Telugu movies is no more.
Shakuntala made her debut with the film Maa Bhoomi in 1978, and her last released film was the Manchu family multi-starrer Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda that released this year.
Shakuntala's comedies in the Telangana accent was her trademark and garnered appreciation by the movie buffs. Telangana Shakuntala was often referred to as the lady monster in the filmnagar circles.
Shakuntala carved he own niche in the industry with her villainy roles in Mahesh’s Okkadu, Nuvvu Nenu, Gangotri and Charminar.
And her comic roles in Avadi Gola Varidi, Sandade Sandadi, Aadivaram Aadavallaku Selavu and Bendapparao RMP too got her praises.
Such a talented actor's death is a big blow to the Tollywood industry.
