A Businessman Turned Actor KV Satish’s story is a typical rag to riches story. Thea lead actor in ‘Yamaleela 2’ is a business management graduate from Visakhapatnam and heads DX Max, a premier real estate firm in Bangalore, with a net worth of around Rs 2,000 crore. A decade ago, with Rs 1,000 in his pocket he reached Bangalore and over the years realised his dreams. Explaining how his career as a businessman took off, he says, “We started off marketing products like children’s books, dictionaries and encyclopedias. We used to import them from China and Mumbai. On day one of our operations, we were, in fact, short of money to get a hotel room. We managed to generate a turnover of Rs 3, 000 on the first day and later we booked the hotel for 15 days. We earned Rs 50,000 till the allotted time in the hotel before moving to a commercial hub in Bangalore.”

He continues, “In 2005, the real estate was at its peak in Bangalore. We got into the promotion of flats and in 2007 we kicked off our real estate endeavours with two projects, followed by eight projects in 2008. From then on there was no looking back.”

However, Satish’s real passion lay in films and realising this, his core team, after a thorough research, felt that SV Krishna Reddy would be his perfect launchpad. Impressed with him, the director too gave his nod of introducing him through ‘Yamaleela 2’. The new kid on the block says that he was never under any kind of pressure doing the film bearing in mind that the first installment attained a cult status. “I knew SV Krishna Reddy would take care of me and that’s what he did till now. We are almost through with our shooting except for an action scene in Mansarovar and a couple of songs outside the country.”

While he is extremely guarded about his role of a “responsible youngster which every household would love to have”, he says the presence of Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam, who play Yama and Chitragupta in the film, has hardly intimidated him. “They were extremely helpful and encouraging. I should thank Krishna Reddy for that because he shot their portions first and gave me time to prepare for my role,” he avers. On a concluding note, he says he is not here to make money. “I want to be a role model to youngsters. If my films influence at least 100 people, I would be more than happy.”
