A true-blue ‘Puri hero’

While NTR is currently occupied with ‘Rabhasa’, he will soon shift attention to his next with Puri Jagganadh. That he is playing a cop is old news but the latest we hear about the project is that he will be playing a typical Puri hero — an orphan who grows up to fulfill his dreams. While Puri might not have penned the script this time around, he has a penchant to portray his central figures as orphans. His heroes from ‘Ek Niranjan’, ‘Golimaar’, ‘Businessman’, ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’, and ‘Heart Attack’ have all been orphans.

A reliable source close to the project says, “NTR plays a character called Daya whose only ambition is to become a protector of law. He does petty jobs, studies in a night school and finally realises his dream. He turns into a one-of-a-kind cop with his own rules and when he is posted in Visakhapatnam to control the growing crime rate, he comes face to face with the ruthless villain who is the kingpin behind the illegal trade in the city. In the process, he also encounters Kajal, an animal lover.”

We’ve further learnt that the shooting of the project would commence once NTR finishes ‘Rabhasa’ and it will be completed within 100 days. Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music for this project while ace cinematographer Chota K Naidu will be collaborating with Puri for the first time.
