Famous… but not at home!

Actor Naga Shourya gets talking about life after ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ and why he is so excited to meet Nagarjuna at the audio launch of ‘Dikkulu Chudaku Ramayya’ today

He may have struck gold at the box office with his maiden release, ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ but that hasn’t changed anything for Naga Shourya. “I may have become famous but at home everything is the same and nobody treats me differently,” says the new kid on the block.

With two movies – ‘Dikkulu Chudaku Ramayya’ and ‘Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki’ – gearing up to hit the screens by the end of the year, he has become a busy man. In addition, he is also in talks with some big production houses for another couple of films (about which he isn’t “ready to divulge details yet”).

Prod him if his busy life makes it tough for him to spend time with family and socialise with friends, he responds, “Of course, it has become difficult. I am so busy shooting most of the time that taking time for all of them is becoming a tough task,” he smiles.

“But thankfully all of them are very understanding. In fact, my parents are proud of me because they are aware that I’m involved with work. What else would parents want?” he adds.

“And my friends are glad that I am slowly settling down in what I always wanted to do,” he elucidates.

When we ask him if all this is a sign of becoming a star, he is quick to say, “How can I be a star already? I have just had one hit and my career just started. Probably after delivering five to six hits, I will have a stand in the industry.”

His career apart, Naga Shourya will fulfill the dream of meeting his matinee idol, Nagarjuna, today at the audio launch of ‘Dikkulu Chudaku Ramayya’. Admittedly he is ecstatic about it. “I will finally get a chance to speak to him! Instead of just telling him that I am his fan, I am wondering how differently I should convey me affection to him. Nagarjuna and NTR have always been my favourites and finally meeting one of them is a great feeling,” he concludes.
