Lingaa Release on Rajinikanth Birthday. Rajinikanth starrer- ‘Lingaa’ is all set for its big release after the Madurai High Court dismissed the plagiarism case filed against the makers. Petitioner K.R. Ravi Rathinam alleged that the producer and director had stolen the story of Mullai Vanam 999, being produced by him.
Mumbai: Rajinikanth starrer- ‘Lingaa’ is all set for its big release after the Madurai High Court dismissed the plagiarism case filed against the makers. Petitioner K.R. Ravi Rathinam alleged that the producer and director had stolen the story of Mullai Vanam 999, being produced by him.
He alleged that the producer and director of ‘Lingaa’ had clandestinely stolen the storyline of his film from ‘Youtube’ as he had made a posting on it. He said he had invested 47 years of labour in the film industry. His film was scheduled for release on Tamil new year day while Lingaa for Pongal next year and this would make his “future dark forever”, the petition said.

The case was dismissed on Wednesday after the petitioner had insufficient evidence and he himself wasn’t aware of his rights. The case was dismissed in the admission stage itself.
The film which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Anuksha will now get its much awaited release of December 12, which also happens to be Rajinikanth’s birthday. Now that’s certainly a gift to look forward to.
