Executive producer Howard Gordon confirmed media reports that franchise veterans Manny Coto and Evan Katz are working on a spin-off of 24, with a new male lead at the centre of the series. According to Gordon, the proposed spin-off will pair this agent with an older, experienced female partner for an entirely new adventure.
Even though planned as a one-off event like the Live Another Day miniseries, Gordon hinted that the Sarnoff could grow into a long-running series. Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman has previously revealed that his network was in the "early" stages of creating a spin-off to the main 24 programme.
