  • Rating: 2.5/ 5

Sampoornesh Babu who has a mass following among the audience, entered the box office race with 'Singam 123' on Friday. Sampoo as fondly called in T town shot to fame with 'Hrudaya Kaleyam' movie and caught the twitter by storm even before his movie hit theaters. ‘Singham 123’ is directed by newcomer Akshat Sharma. Manchu Vishnu 24 frames factory produced the movie.

Story:

Singam 123 ( Sampoo) is a cop who cannot tolerate the misdeeds of anyone in the society.

He is often transferred by the government due to his track record. He takes charge of a place called Singarayakonda. There is a rowdy named Lingam (Bhavani Chowdhary) in Singarayakonda. The film revolves around a challenge between Sampoo and Lingam.

How Sampoo puts an end to the criminal activities of Lingam forms the rest of the story.

Performance

There is no story line in the movie. Though audience laughs and claps during many of the scenes, the movie has no story. Sampoo's dialogue delivery is the main highlight of the film and he has performed three roles as police, student and cop with ease. There are many funny scenes but they fail to tickle our funny bones. The movie completely goes awry without a strong script. Ratnam's dialogues gives comic relief to the viewers.

Sanam's character has no scope for performance. Other characters Bhavani as villain and Prithvi have performed well in the film.

Plus Points

  • Sampoo
  • First half
  • Sampoo's spoofs

Minus Points

  • Story line
  • Music
  • Romance

Technical

New comer Akshat has successfully directed the film and manages to leave the audience with laughter.

But he has failed to make the story any interesting and does not convey his idea.

Some key scenes are inspired from blockbuster films.

Cinematography could have been much better. Music fails to impress the audience.

Bottom-line: Watch for good laughs without expecting story
