Akshay doing great job by training women in martial arts: Siddharth

Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra said that Akshay Kumar has done a commendable job by training women in self-defence. The ‘Khiladi’ actor has launched a martial arts school in Mumbai, to train women in self-defence. Akshay and Sidharth will soon be seen in the upcoming film ‘Brothers’.

At a promotional event of their film in Mumbai recently, Sidharth said, "It is highly commendable what Akshay Kumar is giving back to the society, especially to women. He is a great martial arts artist and has taught them that. Girls will kick the guys who mess with them. We will go on the graduation day to give certificates and I am excited about it."

Akshay said that Sidharth will join him while handing over the certificates. "In a few days, I will be giving certificates to 600 women as I have finished training them. Altogether we have finished training 4,000 women. I know it is a small number, but it is a good initiative as they have gained confidence apart from defending themselves," Akshay said.

The actor said that he has taught them only basics and not Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as it takes time. "It is not about teaching them MMA but only the basics. Training them in MMA will take a lot of time and these are women who are working and they don't have enough time," added Akshay.
