Stand-up comedian and actor Gavin Methalaka a.k.a CHubBy is all set to announce himself on the big stage with a substantial part in upcoming rom-com ‘Katti Batti’ starring Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut.
Gavin prefers to call himself ‘CHubBy’ as he feels that name aptly fits his personality. He has featured in numerous advertisements for renowned brands and in numerous stand-up comedy acts in the recent past. He has displayed his talent in visual arts and voice-overs, having showcased his acting skills in theatre, his forte being Improvisation theatre. He is a member of the Improv Comedy Mumbai group which provide laughs all over the country and because of this, we might just get a feeling of familiarity when we catch a glimpse of him in ‘Katti Batti’.

“I was called multiple times for an audition by the production house. I ignored it several times as I was back home for holidays and wanted to make the most of it. But there is a limit to how many times one can ignore. Many calls later, I found myself sitting in Nikhil sir's Production house. They wanted to meet me. After a brief narration they wanted to know if I was interested and I accepted. And this how I became a part of one of the most awaited films this year,” said CHubBy when asked how he landed the important role.

Gavin essays the role of Imran’s friend and his out-and-out funny character in the film stays true to his real-life personality of being someone who makes people laugh their hearts out. CHubBy has a substantial screen time of 30-45 minutes in the film, which is commendable.

‘Katti Batti’ directed by Nikhil Advani is gearing up for release this Friday and has been produced by UTV Motion Pictures.
