We often criticize that our Telugu film industry does not try anything new and churns out routine fare. But this criticism is turning out to be wrong in recent days. Baahubali started this trend by touching the folk genre which was completely forgotten. It is well over 20 years, when a folk themed story was filmed.

After that Srimanthudu came in with a new concept of do-gooder to own village and became a huge hit. There are many other fresh concepts that are coming in our industry recently.
‘Kanche’ directed by Krish is getting released on Oct 2nd. It is set in the backdrop of World War 2. Then we have ‘Oopiri’ starring Karthi and Nagarjuna. Though this is inspired from ‘untouchables’, Oopiri has a a wheel-chair bound hero. This is something very new to the Telugu industry.
Then comes periodic film ‘Rudramadevi’ starring Anushka. Her next film ‘Size Zero’ is also an experimental movie which no actress would dare to do.
