It’s his gift to me: Vaitla on Chiru’s cameo. While it appeared that director Sreenu Vaitla is racing against time to release his next, ‘Bruce Lee’, starring Ram Charan, on October 16, he says the work is under control and the film is as scheduled. “It is over barring two songs and a few sequences. While it appeared that director Sreenu Vaitla is racing against time to release his next, ‘Bruce Lee’, starring Ram Charan, on October 16, he says the work is under control and the film is as scheduled. “It is over barring two songs and a few sequences. We are working round the clock.
The post-production too is going on a parallel note,” he said while doing the press for the film on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad. While Chiranjeevi’s cameo in the film is drawing all (the) attention, Vaitla doesn’t want to spill the beans about his character for now. “Let it be a surprise,” he chuckled.
“His role is a teaser for his full-fledged return. It’s his gift to me. He will be joining the sets month-end.” Admittedly, Chiru was excited with what he was narrated“It if wasn’t exciting he wouldn’t have accepted to be a part (of the film). He comes at a crucial juncture and his presence was required. It will be a feast to his fans,” he said.
When asked how is Chiru is prepping up for the role, he quipped, “More than him, we should be prepared.” About the film, he shared, “Ram Charan plays a stuntman and idolises Bruce Lee. He is an ordinary man and how he reacts when he encounters an extraordinary situation is what the film all about. It is more of a family entertainer with romance and action in equal proportions.”
Vaitla insisted that it will not be his trademark film. “I started a certain formula and many people followed suit. I’ve heard complaints that it (formula) is overdone. ‘Bruce Lee’ will be in a new format but, as is the case with my earlier films, it will be high on entertainment.”
For a change, said Vaitla, Brahmanandam will not to be a bakra. “I’ve come out of that zone and he is being presented in a new dimension.” Also starring Rakul Preet Singh, Kriti Karbhanda and Jayaprakash Reddy in key roles, ‘Bruce Lee’s audio will be unveiled on October 2.
