Nayantara in 'Mayuri'Speaking at a promotional event of ‘Mayuri’ in Hyderabad on Friday, actor Aari, who played Nayantara’s husband in the film, said that the role was first offered to Nani. “Director Ashwin Saravanan had Nani and me in mind for the role.

He approached Nani first and though he loved the part, he insisted that it will make the life of a newcomer. It is how I bagged the role,” he said. The promotional event was also attended by Ashwin, Tamil producer Prabhu, composer Ron Yohaan and Telugu presenter C Kalyan. Prabhu said that when he was first sounded the script by Ashwin, he was pretty excited about it.

“But since he had no great experience in feature filmmaking, we had our own apprehensions. However, he showed us the sequences he shot and we straightway offered him the film,” said Prabhu. ‘Mayuri’ has been holding on well in Tollywood too despite some stiff competition from ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ and ‘Subrahmanyam For Sale’.
