Sumanth Ashwin to remake Malayalam hit Ordinary. While he is eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Columbus’, which his father MS Raju penned, Sumanth Ashwin has already locked his next endeavour. It would be a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Ordinary’.

While he is eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Columbus’, which his father MS Raju penned, Sumanth Ashwin has already locked his next endeavour. It would be a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Ordinary’.
Released in 2012, the comedy drama did decent business at the Malayalam box-office. It was also remade in Tamil as ‘Jannal Oram’. A source points out, “MS Raju liked the comedy quotient in the original and decided to acquire the rights.
He felt since his son didn’t feature in any comic capers, it would add to his resume. The film will flag-off this year-end and a major part of it will be shot in Araku and surrounding areas.”
The source adds that Mannu Prasad, who has assisted Prakash Kovelamudi for ‘Size Zero’, will helm the project. “Pooja Jhaveri and Pavani Reddy are on board to play the female leads.”
