Celebrating theatre with master classes
True to its tradition of celebrating theatre in Hyderabad, the 10th Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival will begin from October 27. Popular names that will be heard of during the fest are Mahesh Bhatt, Pankaj Kapur, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, among others and artistes from Germany.

The theme for this year is ‘Adaptations.’ This year’s programmes will also include ‘Master Classes’ at The Trident Hotel by leading theatre practitioners on topics such as writing, direction, theatre design and more.
Renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said, “In an age when story telling has been reduced to video-gaming, it is far more exciting to discover the human truth and encounter a social problem through flesh and blood characters on stage.” ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani,’ an adaptation from Mahesh Bhatt’s fiction novel will be one of the plays staged during the days. Other plays scheduled include - Victoria Hauke’s (Germany) ‘13 Fluid Acts of Deviation’ and Ila Arun’s ‘Death Variations.’ The celebrations will be on from October 27 - November 6.
