He made his foray in Bollywood with ‘Horror Story’ and now he will be back on the silver screen with ‘Ishq Ne Krazy Kiya Re’. In a candid interview he talks about his transition from celluloid to Bollywood and his upcoming flick

Excerpts:

Acting a childhood passion or college reverie?

It is a childhood passion. When I was a kid I use to enact scenes from Bollywood movies, my parents also supported me in my career decision.

From buttress roles to lead role in TV series ‘Ram Milayi Jodi’. What was the instant reaction when you bagged the role?

I was very happy. It was like a dream come true. The moment I came to know that I will be the face of ‘Ram Milayi Jodi’ that too with a channel like Zee TV at a prime time I was elated.

Post your debut in Bollywood you didn’t do any show on TV. Can we say you quit TV?

I did not leave television. I just gave myself a break from daily soaps. I’m here to try my luck and see, where my destiny will take me in the film industry as a solo hero in the Bollywood. If I’m doing a daily soap then I won’t get time to struggle and I want to give myself enough time to edge and try to see where I can be.

What do you prefer, story or production house?

Both are very important. In Bollywood, production house is important because they should have enough material to perform the movie and at the same time story plays pivotal role. If story is good then it will be perceptible by the masses. If story is bad and a big production is making, then whole world will balderdash it. So it works in hand in hand.

Your last film did not do well at the box-office. How sure are you that your upcoming film will be basking in glory at the box-office?

Honestly speaking, I don’t care whether the movie will be a success or not. But I will keep doing films. I am sure one day audience will appreciate my work. For instance Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar had very long streaks of flops in their career but now they are ruling the box-office. I did not had solo lead role in ‘Horror Story’, however, ‘Bezubaan Ishq’ is my solo lead film and the reason it did not fare well at box office because it did not get enough screens.

Tell us about your upcoming movie ‘Ishq Ne Krazy Kiya Re’?

The movie is about a boy and his journey, who wants to be singer and he is in his quest to achieve his dream. But he is offered a short cut to fame; however, there is a catch he has to give up on love of his life.

Do you feel a star kid has more privilege than a budding actor who has no background?

The star kid always has a lot of experience and many contacts. I think that is the first step they achieve a little sooner than outsiders like me. But at the box-office audience will only buy the ticket if you are hardworking. If you are not talented enough you may be anybody, you won’t run for a long time.
