Earlier if a film was a hit or flop, it would be telecast on the small screen in a gap of 6 to 8 months from its release. Now, it has come down to 3 to 4 months. But recently some films were even aired within just 50 days after their releases.

The recent film ‘Shivam’ which was released on October 2 was declared a disaster and it will be telecast on Diwali which is less than 40 days after its release. Also India’s biggest blockbuster like ‘Baahubali’ is telecast on TV in a gap of 100 days from its release. Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu too is all set to rock the small screen soon.

The reason behind this is, all the filmmakers sell the satellite rights of their movies for high price and channels want to recover the money by premiering them soon. So if the films become hits, then it is good but if it bombs then the viewers do not go to theatres and wait for it to come on TV. So if they telecast these films as early as possible the TV channels can easily recover the money spent on that before the viewers loose their interest.
