Tamil film industry, which is known for its new concepts and fresh stories, is now baking heavily on sequels. There are many sequels lined up for release in 2016 in Kollywood.
Tamil film industry, which is known for its new concepts and fresh stories, is now baking heavily on sequels. There are many sequels lined up for release in 2016 in Kollywood.
First in the list is Shankar’s much hyped ‘Robo-2’ with Rajni and Arnold. The film is expected to be the costliest film yet in India and the makers are expecting to re-create the magic of ‘Robo’ once again. Then it will be sequel of Kamal’s most controversial film ‘Vishwaroopam’. The sequel of this film is expected to release in the first half of 2016.
Also Kamal is planning to make sequels of his some other hit films too. Director Mani Ratnam is planning for a sequel of his old film ‘Agni Nakshatra’. Also Lawrence is getting ready with his next part of ‘Kanchana’ or ‘Muni’. Even young actor Simbu is planning to make the sequel for his hit film ‘Manmadha’.
These sequels have their own advantages and disadvantages. There is no need of separate promotions as the film will have some associated hype already. But it should satisfy the audience expectations. Otherwise it becomes a flop. So let us see how all these sequels fare at the box-office next year.
