That Sumanth, who is known for his disappearance act, has acquired the remake rights for the Telugu version of Bollywood super hit film ‘Vicky Donor’ is a known thing. Hans Talkies has learnt that Pallavi Subhash has been cast opposite the actor. The Marathi actress will be seen as the leading lady opposite Sumanth and will reprise Yami Gautam, who was the lead actress in the original. Interestingly, the makers of the original movie too felt that a new face will do justice to the role.
A source tells us, “Though there were plans to get a top actress on board, the makers backed out because of creative issues. They auditioned quite a few girls for the Telugu version and eventually Pallavi was shortlisted. She’s pretty kicked to be part of such a trendsetting movie."
Pallavi Subhash is a popular face on the Hindi TV circuit. She also acted in several Marathi movies and was part of several modeling assignments.
Apparently, the script will be tweaked to suit the sensitivity of the South audiences given the slightly controversial nature of the film's subject. “The makers will ensure that the remake will respect the quirky sensibility of the original,” adds the source.
The comedy-drama, which went on floors recently, is being directed by Mallik and produced by Sumanth himself under his production house SS Creations.
