Virinchi Varma to direct Nani

After delivering a super hit with ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’, Nani seems to be the toast of Tolly town, if the young actor’s signing-spree is an indication.

Nani, who is shooting for films under Hanu Ragahavapudi and Indraganti Mohankrishna, is learnt to green-lighted another project. Buzz is that Nani, with a penchant to break away from tried- and-tested mainstream sensibilitiesm has given the nod for another rom-com to be directed by Virinchi Varma.

A source confirms the development. “Yes, the talks between the actor and director have been going on for quite some time. Nani was pleased with Virinchi’s story idea and has asked the filmmaker to come up with the final draft. The film will be a romantic comedy but will show the protagonist in a different light, unlike his earlier films.”

Thrilled to have got a ‘go-ahead’ from Nani, the director is giving final touches to the narrative. The duo is expected to lock the script by next month. A formal announcement will be made soon. Anandi Arts will bankroll the film, which will start early summer. Meanwhile, hunt for the leading lady is on.
