Varun DhawanFrom ‘Student of the Year’ to ‘Dilwale’, Varun Dhawan has made some interesting career choices and the actor is happy that his audience has always supported him.

“I am growing with my audience. When I made my debut I was 24 and they have grown up with me. They are with me with each choice of mine. I have been lucky that children took a liking to me. The youth and the kids, they come and support me,” he said.

In ‘Dilwale’, slated to release on December 18, Varun stars as the younger brother of Shah Rukh Khan. The actor reveals he was the first one to come on board the Rohit Shetty-directed movie.

“I met Rohit sir a couple of times as I am a big fan of his work. I heard that he was making a film where he needs an actor of the senior generation and another from the junior one. And then I got the script.

I was the first person to be offered this role, even before Shah Rukh sir,” said Varun, adding he will not hesitate to call a director if he liked his work. “I will not do ‘chamchagiri’ but if I like a director, I will tell him that I like your work and I want to work with you. I would do that.”
