Director Jaideep Chopra’s second film, ‘2016 The End’ has gone on floors. His 2013 debut, ‘Maazii’ had received tremendous appreciation from the critics and a bagful of international awards.

The title might look like an intense sci-fi film but the film is a slapstick comedy. It traces the lives of four characters who discover that apocalypse is going to strike the world in seven days. The manner in which they celebrate the ‘last seven days of their life’ forms the crux of the film.
All four characters in the film are known faces, starting with Kiku Sharda who plays the popular Palak in ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. Actress Priya Banerjee was last seen in ‘Jazbaa’, Divyendu Sharma has done films such as ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ and ‘Chashme Baddoor’, along with TV star Harshad Chopda, known for his role in ‘Humsafars’.

The makers have already unveiled the first look poster and it carry the tagline 'What Would You Do If The World Ends In 7 Days?', giving it an international feel.
Director Chopra told media, "‘Maazii’ was a dark thriller and such films are not for the masses. The basic motive behind making that film was to cement my foothold as a director in the industry. We bagged 16 international awards and ratings from critics ranged from 3.5 to 4 stars.

It’s big transformation to move from a grim thriller to an out-and-out comedy, so I want to make a film earns good money at the box-office, while it also earns rave reviews from critics just like my last film, ‘Maazii’ had garnered.
The critics might slam me saying he’s moved from a movie like ‘Maazii’ to making a hardcore commercial movie, but I’ll look into the fact that this doesn’t happen. I want to keep those 3.5 to 4 stars coming for ‘2016 The End’ as well."

Chopra feels that he has country’s best team of technicians for the film. Rameshwar S. Bhagat, the editor of the film has edited films such as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Kick’, ‘Boss’ and is doing ‘Sultan’ now. Shajith Koyeri who won National Award for ‘Haider’ for sound design and is also doing ‘Dangal’ is managing the sound design of the film.
‘2016 The End’ is also written and produced by Chopra, under the banner 'Dollar Group International' & 'Jaideep Chopra Productions'.

The Film is slated for Mid-2016 release.
