Excerpts:

How has your journey been so far?
It has been really good. In 2009 I started off my acting career and today it is 2016, it has been a roller-coaster ride for me.

What made you opt for this profession?
I was a three-year-old when I saw the movie ‘Rangeela’. When I saw Urmila Matondkar on screen, I got inspired and decided to choose acting as my career.

Did you face any rejections?
Several. Sometimes I don’t fit the budget or am busy on certain dates. All these made me reject some shows and few shows also rejected me. However, I believe that the character chooses you. It’s not even about rejection.

How did you get your first role in ‘Saat Phere Saloni Ki Safar’?
I used to go for a dance class when my friend suggested that I go for an audition, even though I did not have a portfolio to show. I went with a simple lip-gloss and compact as my makeup and I got selected in my first audition itself.

‘Ek Mutti Aasmaan’ was a kickass start for your career. How did you get the opportunity?
I was done with my second show and was awaiting a good role because I also finished my education by then. One day I got a call from DJ Creative Unit asking me to audition for the role of Kalpana opposite to Ashish Chaudhary. Once I studied my character, I said OK and got it!

Did you feel bad when you were replaced for that role?
I took it in a positive stride. I know how much hard work I did for the show. After all that, even being replaced due to some politics, I was very aware that this was not the end for me.

What about Maharani Ajabde in ‘Maharana Pratap’ appealed to you most?
First of all, it is the lead role. Secondly, it was completely in contrast to what I was playing until now. I got the chance to play the role of a royal warrior princess. Everything about it excited me and I thought I have to do this.
