Srinivas Reddy banks on career-changing Jayammu Nischayammura

After impressing everyone as the protagonist in the horror flick ‘Geethanjali’, actor Srinivas Reddy, who is mostly seen in comic roles, will return as a protagonist in ‘Jayammu Nischayammura’. Produced and directed by Siva Raj Kanumuri, the rom-com will have Poorna as the female lead.

Sharing details about his role, Srinivas Reddy reveals, “I play a Karimnagar guy who gets a government job and is posted in Kakinada. The consequences after meeting new people and the difficulties I face in Kakinada are narrated in a comical way. There’s also a sweet romantic track (with Poorna) that runs simultaneously.”

The actor hopes that he will land up with similar roles in the days ahead. “The film will be a career milestone for me. I am sure it will surprise the audience as they will get to see me in a new avatar. My antics, dialogue delivery and body language will be completely different yet entertaining. We are going all out to make it an absolute entertainer,” he promises.

On the differences between the lead role and that of a comic character, he points out, “I think playing the lead role comes with more responsibility. The fact that the film’s business is predominantly riding on me, it makes me more accountable and conscious. You have to ensure that everything, including costumes, dialogues, lightning, camera angles, are in place.”
