`Neerja` surpasses PeeCee's `Mary Kom at box-office

New Delhi : It has been only eighteen days since the release of Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Neerja' and the movie is still dominating at the box-office without facing much competition.

Interestingly, the critically acclaimed film has also surpassed Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Mary Kom' at box-office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news by tweeting, "#Neerja crosses # MaryKom lifetime biz [Week 3] Fri 1.15 cr, Sat 2.20 cr, Sun 2.69 cr, Mon 1.45 cr. Total: ? 65.24 cr. India biz. SUPERB!."

Ranveer Singh had earlier applauded the movie and called it a "cinematic gem".

Sonam has garnered appreciation from every part of the country through calls, messages and tweets for giving commendable performance in Ram Madhvani's directorial.

'Neerja', along with huge critical appreciation, has collected a whopping Rs. 22 crore in two days in the opening weekend at the box-office.

The movie that also stars veteran actress Shabana Azmi as Rama Bhanot and singer Shekhar Ravjiani as Jaideep was released on February 19.
