Ki & Ka recorded one of the highest domestic opening day collections of the year with Rs. 7.30 Cr (India NBOC) and collected Rs 8.41 Cr ( India NBOC) over Saturday and 9.52 on Sunday, despite the ICC T-20 cricket finals.
The film also performed outstandingly in the overseas markets, collecting Rs. 12.25 cr (USD 1.85 mn) in its opening weekend.
The film showed a solid upward trend over the weekend and continues to go strong over the weekdays, going by the early estimates.
Considering the genre, the number of screens it released in and the target audience ,the makers have much reason to celebrate having collected over 37.48 cr ( India NBOC ) over the weekend.
Ki & Ka costs an approximate 30 cr including P&A while the satellite rights are in the range of 13 cr + .Having recovered over 50% of the spends prior to the release, Ki & Ka with its positive word of mouth and exciting ,novel concept is well on its way to being a bona fide hit.
