The movie ‘Azhar’ is releasing worldwide today - a biopic of Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s life, the film is a take on his career, match fixing issue and love life.

Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai, the leading actors of the film, were in city with the cricketer to talk about their movie on Thursday.

Speaking at the promotion meet at Inorbit Mall, Azharuddin shared, “People think that this film is my biopic, but it is not true. The film is based on incidents that happened in my life.

The film also explains about how things went in the ban period on me regarding match fixing allegations. I fought for 12 years in court and finally I got the verdict in my favour.”

The cricketer has watched the movie and is all praise for Emraan Hashmi. “I think it’s a good film. Emraan did a great job and he is the right person for the role. While shooting he tried to simulate my actions,” said Azharuddin.
