AR Rahman seems to have developed an affinity towards Sports, no prizes for guessing why. The living legend from the musical domain has given his music to Pele-Birth of the Legend. Yet another sports biopic on none other than the cricketer Sachin, Rahman has lent his able music to this film as well.

Having won the Oscar he says, "Life after Oscar-winning has really changed .Things have become simpler for me.Every door for you is open now –Be it a stage show or a film nationally –Internationally. With my unique style which everyone wants to hear a streak of it along with new combinations like in Pele, I have mixed the Brazilian-European style alongside my own styling which the makers of the film demanded .This makes me feel humbled.

On a lighter note he says, I have become a good father, a good husband and I have taken my son and the family to shop after having won the Oscar.

Loving sports now Rahman adds, I have started enjoying sports though I have never practiced any one sport in particular. But owing to my physical fitness I think I can start off now. [Smiles] I never grew up as a sports person.

Adding the differences between working for films nationally and internationally he says: Working in India is easier. Indian makers are blessed to enjoy a lot of liberties. here you launch a film and you do a song one after the other unlike in the Western Countries Working internationally is really tough the makers out there are totally in charge of every minutest thing–They are controlling like The Mafia, he says with a smile.

Giving away the success mantra of making ear soothing music: I’m the listener first. I have to enjoy what I make .I go by my honest feelings. I am passionate about what I make. I do compose music for people. But before I present it to them I need to taste my food first. I feel I am born with every composition of mine.

On Film 99: I can only say The hero belongs to Kashmir and the heroine is from some other place. A couple of films are lined up with Mani Ratnam, Shankar, and Robot -2.

Reminiscing the struggles of his father he quips, I can see lots of parallels in Pele. Like my father died the day he had to witness success. He struggled throughout his life but could not live to witness success. However, the love and support that every parent readily extends to their aspiring words are like their blessings from the almighty.

Lastly, ask him if he was keen on getting his own Biopic made? Smiles –It will be so boring….A documentary on Jai Ho about my life has though been made.
