The CBFC wants most of the cuss words to be edited out, despite filmmakers applying for adult certification.

In the midst of reports following censor board’s decision to ban director Abhishek Chaubey’s 'Udta Punjab', which is based on Punjab’s crucial drug abuse problem, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap cleared the air surrounding the controversy.

Kashyap took to Twitter to put an end to the speculations around the movie being banned in a series of tweets.

He wrote, “For the record , “Udta Punjab” is not banned. The examining committe has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on. And due process takes it own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now. A film is banned only when examining, revising and FCAT all three refuse certificate. And then you fight it out in Supreme Court.”
