Abhimanyu turns cop

After playing the mean guy in most of his Telugu films, Abhimanyu Singh will be seen as a cop in his forthcoming film ‘Chuttalabbayi’. “I play a cop in the family entertainer. It’s a first of a kind for me. It’s a very positive character and I act as the catalyst that brings hero-heroine together. There are several interesting scenes that are shot on us and I believe it makes a good impact in total,” he explains.

The ‘Rakta Charitra’ actor is happy that he’s getting a chance to experiment with various roles, and not just limit himself to playing the bad ass. “Yeah, thankfully, I’m also being approached for roles other than the baddie. In ‘Shivam’, my role had a comic side to it and now in Aadi-starrer I got a role which is different,” the actor states.

Abhimanyu, however, will be returning to playing a baddie in another Telugu film, ‘Oxygen, starring Gopichand. “I play the main antagonist. My role has lot of shades and I behave in an erratic way but for a reason. ‘Oxygen’ is about a huge family but with a twist. The family has got a great past and it’ll unfold slowly.”
