Bhagmati to be a bilingual

The long-in-the-planning Anushka-starrer ‘Bhagmati’ will be simultaneously filmed in Tamil. Launched in a low-key affair in Hyderabad recently, the initial plan was to confine it to only Telugu.

But since Anushka has a sizeable market in Tamil, director Ashok felt it would be fitting if he makes the film in both Telugu and Tamil. In fact, one of the reasons to rope in prominent cast from other South languages is to generate a good buzz in Kollywood too.

A source from close to the unit reveals, “The ensemble cast of ‘Bhagmati’ includes actors who are known in Tamil too. The idea is to cash in on their popularity and sell the film at a decent price.” The thriller that has Anushka playing the title role will roll this month.
