Washington, D.C.: With some of the music's biggest names, including Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato calling off their North Carolina gig, Selena Gomez is all geared up to set the stage on fire with her 'Revival' tour stop in North Carolina.

Explaining her decision, the 23-year-old singer said in a statement, "I am very fortunate to have grown up in a home where I learned from an early age that everyone should be treated equally. I went back and forth on whether I should cancel my concert in North Carolina and ultimately I think what is right for me is to move forward with my show and donate a portion of the proceeds to Equality North Carolina and their effort to defeat this act of discrimination," E! Online reports.

"I've been reassured the venue I will be performing in has gender neutral bathrooms as I want everyone coming to my show to be welcomed. I feel like my generation is the most progressive one yet and believe there will be a day soon when laws like HB2 won't even be a consideration," reads her statement.

Her representative confirmed that the singer would be donating a portion of the proceeds from her concert to a local LGBT organization.

North Carolina had earlier passed highly controversial HB2 law, which bans cities and other local governments from passing rules to allow transgender people to use public bathrooms that match their gender identity.

Several stars, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Ellen DeGeneres and Laverne Cox, have spoken out against the bill.
