Shriya to play a mom again!

When Shriya Saran appeared on-screen as a mom for the first time in ‘Gopala Goapla’, her impressive act in the satirical drama made everyone sit and take notice of her performance. Now the Dehradun actress is set for encore in Balakrishna-starrer ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’. Apparently, Shriya will be seen in the role of Vasishta Devi (Satakarni’s wife), and will be portrayed as a mom of two in the historical drama.

One of the reasons the makers had to extensively search for the leading lady was because of the strong character. Since Shriya had already played a mom in the Pawan-Venky-starrer, the makers believed that she can pull the role with elan. A source close to the unit reveals, “When Shriya was recently narrated the script, she was pretty kicked with the way Krish has written her character.

History reveals that Vasishta Devi’s character has quite a few shades and Shriya is all thrilled that Krish is bringing those variations to life on the silver screen.” The film’s shooting is underway and Shriya, who is currently in Hyderabad, is expected to join the sets soon.
