Cast and crew of the recent Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’ interacted with media at the movie screening in Inox, Kacheguda.

Director Nagraj Manjule along with star cast Rinku Rajguru, Tanaji Galgunde, Arbaz Shaik and the crew watched the movie with the audience at the theatre and interacted with them after the screening.

Released on April 6 this year the movie had become the biggest weekend opener for Marathi film, which broke the previous record of ‘Natsamrat’.

The film follows the story where a low-caste young boy and the daughter of an upper caste landlord, fall in love despite opposition from society. When their relationship is discovered, the couple faces a lot of challenges before they leave for the city.

It was the first Marathi film to cross Rs 100 crore mark and will be remade in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarat and Hindi. The remake rights for the four Southern languages are acquired by Rockline Venkatesh.

Stating his happiness Nagraj said, “I never expected it to be such a big success that even on the day 59 of the movie screening, it is running houseful everywhere. We have decided to remake it in five languages.

We will start the remake in Telugu and at present we are looking for the local cast and crew for it,” he said.
One of the leads Rinku said, “We had great response for the movie in Maharashtra and we hope it will continue its success in other languages also.”
