The success of Airlift has worked wonders for the team. While lead pair Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur managed to reinstate their critical acclimation, it was newcomer Feryna Wazheir who grabbed industry attention and stole audiences hearts for her credible performance of a vulnerable Kuwaiti woman on the run from Saddam’s army.
The actress has since been noticed and approached by key filmmakers both down South and in Bollywood and likely to make big announcements soon. For now, Feryna is basking in the glory of appreciation that she has been receiving from her fans in Middle East and in B Town on her very first ad film which has gone viral.
Feryna has been the talk of the town for her demure look and Indian avatar in the film that celebrates love and food and has been launched around the festival of Eid. Teaming up with Kunal Kapoor and ace ad film director Shwetabh Varma, the romantic ad film will give her the platform to showcase her desi look and her impeccable expressions.
"I've grown up speaking Urdu and Hindi. After Airlift a lot of people think that I am actually a Kuwaiti. Fortunately, the traditional look in the Eid ad has managed to change that image," says Feryna.
