Kabali first day box office predictions

Being one of the most popular actors in South India and overseas, Superstar Rajinikanth's movies have previously held the records of the biggest openers and highest grosser. Now, with the pre-release buzz and hype surrounding his latest flick Kabali, trade experts are predicting some record numbers from the Kabali 1st day collection.

Released worldwide in around 4000 screens, Kabali has received a thunderous response at the worldwide box office. While the occupancy is 100% in Tamil Nadu with all shows going houseful so far, the holiday declaration in few parts of the country has boosted Kabali collection. Even in Karnataka, the movie opened with around 80-85% occupancy.

Kabali released in Tamil and Telugu in over 450 screens in the U.S has shattered all opening records including Baahubali and Sultan. The premiere shows were held in over 260 screens in two languages and the theatres were completely packed.

Going by the official figures, Kabali collection is $1.45m from Thursday previews in US and in France, the movie set a record by collecting 41280€ from four shows. As per the early trends, Kabali opening day collection is all set to shatter Kollywood records by a big margin and is expected to be Rs 50 crore. The movie is predicted to hit the Rs 150 crore mark in the first weekend.

Starring Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte in lead roles, Kabali is directed by Pa Ranjith.
