Film industry gives more importance to looks: Prachi

Actress Prachi Desai, who is gearing up for her upcoming film ‘Rock On!! 2’, says the Hindi film industry focuses more on looks than anything else. "I think there are a lot of brilliant actors who probably don't get the same kind of positioning or they don't get their due because of certain reasons... I think looks is something that this industry gives a lot more importance to," Prachi said.

Prachi says people don't give much importance to talent. "I think more than talent what people get aroused by (is looks). I think that's what the industry cares about," she added. On the acting front, Prachi, who played cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin's first wife Naureen in ‘Azhar’, says that she wants to play astronaut Kalpana Chawla and Maharani Gayatri Devi onscreen.

When Prachi was asked whom she would like to portray in a biopic, she said, "There would be plenty. Actually there are two that I can name right now because they are drastically different. One would be Kalpana Chawla and the other would be Gayatri Devi." “One is royal and the other is going to be so scientific. I think it's amazing if I can ever get to play (them)," Prachi added.
