Nationwide talent hunt for Prabhas’ heroine

Director Radhakrishna (‘Jil’ fame) too, like other T-wood filmmakers, is finding increasingly tough to cast actresses with talent opposite Prabhas

Sometimes being a star is a bane. The flourishing Telugu film industry is usually short of leading ladies and if you happen to be a big star, it’ll only add to the casting woes. A case in point being Prabhas. Post the record-shattering showing of ‘Baahubali,’ Prabhas has become a force nation-wide to reckon. However, with T-Town facing a 'heroine crunch', Radhakrishna, his next director, is having a difficult time to find heroine for him.

Apparently, the makers of the young rebel star’s next film have been conducting auditions nationwide to finalise the leading lady. Apart from approaching various talent agencies, trials are silently underway in various major cities including Amritsar, Chandigarh and Lucknow. Director Radhakrishna’s prerequisite of a ‘teenager who can emote’ seems to be a different proposition altogether.

“The casting process has started long back and the makers have auditioned several fresh faces including college-goers to discover Prabhas’ perfect match. A few profiles have been shortlisted but the hunt is still on for the right girl,” informs a source from the unit.
