Mani Ratnam picks Dil Raju over Bandla Ganesh

Producer-distributor Dil Raju has snapped the theatrical rights of Telugu dubbed version of filmmaker Mani Ratnam's upcoming Tamil romantic drama ‘Kaatru Veliyidai,’ which stars Karthi in the lead.

“Raju has pipped fellow producer Bandla Ganesh to acquire the rights of the Telugu dubbed version of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai' for a fancy price. The latter was ready to pay much more than what was quoted by original makers.

However, since Ratnam had previously worked with Raju (for ‘Ok Bangaram’), and was happy with their association, he sold the rights to Raju,” he said. Also starring Aditi Rao Hydari, the film has music by AR Rahman. While Karthi plays a pilot in the film, Aditi plays a doctor.
