But little do people know that though PeeCee may be the current big thing internationally, she is not the first one to leave a mark. Here is a list of Indians you may not have heard of but have already created a ripplein the universal entertainment industry.

Sunkrish Bala : Sunkrish Bala struck gold as recurring character, Vikram, in the hugely popular show Castle, Season 8. A high-strung tech analyst with the Attorney General's office in Washington, D.C, Sunkrish has won the hearts of fans across the globe for his role as a computer analyst for the NYPD in Castle. Castle Season 8 airs on Star world and Star World HD this September.

Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife): Archie Panjabi is a British actress, best known for her role as Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife. Her portrayal has earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2010 and an NAACP Image Award in 2012, as well as two Emmy nominations, one Golden Globe nomination, and three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations shared with the cast.

Her other notable roles include Yasmin Husseini in Yasmin (2005), Pinky Bhamra in Bend It Like Beckham (2002) and Asra Nomani in A Mighty Heart (2007).Panjabi was born in Londonto Govind and Padma Panjabi, both Sindhi Hindu immigrants from India.

Annet Mahendru (The Americans): Annet Mahendru is an Afghan-born Russian–Indian actress, best known for her role as Nina Sergeevna Krilova on the FX period drama series, The Americans.

For her portrayal she was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a drama series. Annet is the daughter of Olga and Ghanshan Ken" Mahendru. Her mother is a Russian businesswoman and artist, and her father is an Indian journalist.

Noureen DeWulf (Anger Management): Noureen DeWulf is an American actress who starred as Lacey in the hit show Anger Management with Charlie Sheen. She is also known for her roles in films such as West Bank Story, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and The Back-up Plan.

DeWulf was born Noureen Ahmed in New York City to Indian Muslim parents from Pune, India and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia before making acting her fulltime career

Kabir Akhtar (Crazy Ex – Girlfriend): Kabir Akhtar is an American television director and editor. He is the current editor of the hit series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which airs on Star World and Star World HD. Kabir has been nominated for a prime time Emmy award for the show and why not? Akhtar's credits include work for Arrested Development, New Girl, The Daily Show, Unsolved Mysteries, Behind the Music, and the Academy Awards. He has also directed the pilot episode of the MTV series 8th& Ocean, and the TV Diaries pilot.

He is the son of noted psychiatrist Salman Akhtar and nephew of award-winning Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar and actress Shabana Azmi making him the first cousin of film directors Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar.

Manpreet Bachu (The Royals): Manpreet Bachu is an American actor who appears on the hit TV show The Royals where he plays the role of Ashok. He is also known for starring in Kinect Sports: Season 2 and for the movie Level Up.

Veena Sud (The Killings) : Veena Sud is a Canadian-born Hindu American television writer, director and producer. She is best known for developing the American television drama The Killing, which is based on the Danish series Forbrydelsen.

Of Filipino and Indian heritage, Sud was born in Toronto to Mohendra Sud, a physician born in India. For her show The Killing, she was nominated for an Emmy nomination as well as a Writers Guild of America nomination.

Rahul Kohli: Rahul Kohli is an English television, film and stage actor. He currently stars as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti on the show iZombie.Rahul Kohli was born in London, England to Hindu immigrant parents of Indian origin.
