Shraddha to play a scribe

The ‘Great Grand Masti’ star had to video audition to bag the project which will be directed by her good friend Praveen Sattaru

After winning brownie points as Revolver Rani in her last Telugu outing ‘Guntur Talkies’, Shraddha Das is now set play a journalist in her next Telugu film directed by Praveen Sattaru.

Recalling how she video auditioned for the first time, the ‘Great Grand Masti’ actor shares, “Praveen briefed me about an important role of a reporter in the film. He said that the role demands me to speak a lot in Telugu.

Since I wasn’t keeping well at that time, he asked me to send the videos of a couple of big monologues in Telugu to observe my command over the language. I took it as a challenge and sent him my audition videos.”

She adds, “I was initially nervous to do the video audition and felt almost like a newcomer. But after seeing the video, Praveen said, ‘It was fantastic and I never expected this from you (laughs).’

He also told me that he will not use any kind of prompting on the sets, for lengthy dialogues, and that I have to say it own my own. So I have to be on my toes and be well prepared for my lines.” The film, starring Rajasekhar and Pooja Kumar, will go on floors next month.
