Rakul Preet to play Athlete

This year seems to be all about exploring new terrains for Rakul Preet Singh. After surprising lot of people by going de-glam for ‘Sarrainodu’, we’ve reliably learnt that the sassy actress will be seen in the role of a sportswoman in her forthcoming film directed by Gopichand Malineni.

Apparently, Rakul will be seen as a sportsperson in track and field – a role that she has hitherto played. The actress’ penchant for sports (she was a national level golf player) naturally got her excited about the role when she was given the narration.

“Rakul Preet Singh is a bundle of energy and she will be seen as a sportswoman, a runner. The character required someone to be athletic and Rakul was the obvious choice since she is a lot into fitness,” says a source. The film, starring Sai Dharam Tej, has gone to floors recently.
